Not every carpet needs it. But tufted, woven, and knit-style carpets unravel the moment you cut them — so we brush a latex coating onto the backing, let it fully dry, then cut and serge.
The waiting matters. Rush it and the wet latex gums up our binding and serging machines, throws the stitch timing off, and the edge can still come apart later (like the photo). It’s slow, careful work — and it’s the difference between a rug that lasts and one that doesn’t.
